They're the Super Easy Legwarmers out of the book Last Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson. These are for a friend that I work with. However, I've been working on them since May and this is as far as I've gotten in my first one. I just have no motivation to work on a single rib for that long. But these need to be the next project I finish! It's been too long.
I'm currently reading The Map of Time by Felix J. Palma. I like it and I don't like it. It's a series of three stories together that only have a handful of overlapping characters. So every time you reach the end of a part, you have to start all over getting to know new characters, which is a pain. But once I do get into each story, I really like it! So I'm torn. Also, the narrator is kind of annoying. He refers to himself several times, even though he is not a character in the novel. Otherwise, it's pretty good.

Maybe you have to set a goal of so many rounds a day? Single rib is tedious - that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteI've thought about that. Or maybe an inch or two a day? It's just hard to believe I have to do another whole legwarmer after this one!
DeleteThe legwarmer looks amazing so far. I can understand how the ribbing is becoming tedious.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I prefer 1x1 ribbing to 2x2.. But It's still not my favorite!
DeleteI love ribbing, crazy I know. My last ribbed project was knitted wristlets for my father. I consider rib stitch mindless knitting so I make sure I'm listening to an audio book, or watching something on television. Your legwarmers are coming along nicely and I love the color.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm glad that it's 1x1 ribbing at least! I don't like 2x2 ribbing as much. It requires a bit more thought since the switch is farther apart.
DeleteI like your legwarmers. I have yet to make a pair of those and they are back in style! Must work on that for Christmas presents.
ReplyDeleteThanks! A friend at work requested them as a belated birthday gift.
DeleteThe book looks good based on the cover! But we know what they say about that, don't we?
ReplyDeleteHaha! This made me laugh out loud. I was going to say something about that... About how the cover looks good. Oops. The story is good! I just don't like having to start over with new characters so often.
DeleteHaha thanks! I wish. :)
ReplyDeletemight have to look into that book --- a narrator can really make or break an audible, though! It's so hot here, no one will be thinking legwarmers for months and months!!
ReplyDeleteYeah. I just finished the book this afternoon. It was okay, but not the best I've read. But then again, I was an English major, so I'm picky!
DeleteIt's hot here too, which is why I think she doesn't mind being patient for them!
your legwarmers will be so cute when your done, i think when you finish the one and see it on you'll find the motivation for #2. i also think your just adorable.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I have about three inches to go on the first one yet (I'm making them 20" long instead of the 26" that the pattern suggests).
