WIP Wednesday and Yarn Along

Well, it's been a while since I posted. It's hard because Wednesday and Friday are my biggest motivation to post, and I often work on those days. So I forget to take pictures while the lighting is good. But, here I am now. While I do have a handful of WIPs at the moment, I wanted to share the one that I need to focus on working on now. They're one of the first projects I showed for the Yarn Along I believe.

They're the Super Easy Legwarmers out of the book Last Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson. These are for a friend that I work with. However, I've been working on them since May and this is as far as I've gotten in my first one. I just have no motivation to work on a single rib for that long. But these need to be the next project I finish! It's been too long.

I'm currently reading The Map of Time by Felix J. Palma. I like it and I don't like it. It's a series of three stories together that only have a handful of overlapping characters. So every time you reach the end of a part, you have to start all over getting to know new characters, which is a pain. But once I do get into each story, I really like it! So I'm torn. Also, the narrator is kind of annoying. He refers to himself several times, even though he is not a character in the novel. Otherwise, it's pretty good.

Check out more projects and good reads at WIP Wednesday and the Yarn Along.

  1. Maybe you have to set a goal of so many rounds a day? Single rib is tedious - that's for sure!

    1. I've thought about that. Or maybe an inch or two a day? It's just hard to believe I have to do another whole legwarmer after this one!

  2. The legwarmer looks amazing so far. I can understand how the ribbing is becoming tedious.

    1. Thanks! I prefer 1x1 ribbing to 2x2.. But It's still not my favorite!

  3. I love ribbing, crazy I know. My last ribbed project was knitted wristlets for my father. I consider rib stitch mindless knitting so I make sure I'm listening to an audio book, or watching something on television. Your legwarmers are coming along nicely and I love the color.

    1. Thank you! I'm glad that it's 1x1 ribbing at least! I don't like 2x2 ribbing as much. It requires a bit more thought since the switch is farther apart.

  4. I like your legwarmers. I have yet to make a pair of those and they are back in style! Must work on that for Christmas presents.

  5. The book looks good based on the cover! But we know what they say about that, don't we?

    1. Haha! This made me laugh out loud. I was going to say something about that... About how the cover looks good. Oops. The story is good! I just don't like having to start over with new characters so often.

  6. might have to look into that book --- a narrator can really make or break an audible, though! It's so hot here, no one will be thinking legwarmers for months and months!!

    1. Yeah. I just finished the book this afternoon. It was okay, but not the best I've read. But then again, I was an English major, so I'm picky!

It's hot here too, which is why I think she doesn't mind being patient for them!

    1. Thanks! I have about three inches to go on the first one yet (I'm making them 20" long instead of the 26" that the pattern suggests).
